The "Sender Name" Strategy
Substack and Beehiiv have made it easy to start, but hard to stand out. If your newsletter name is "The Weekly Update," you’re invisible. If your name is unique but your domain doesn't match, your emails are more likely to hit the spam folder. Consistency equals deliverability.
The 3-Point Newsletter Brand Check:
- Inbox Recognition: Is your name short enough to not get cut off on mobile email apps? Every character counts in a subject line.
- Social Distribution: Newsletters grow via "Social Proof." If people can't easily tag your exact brand name on X (Twitter) or LinkedIn, you're killing your organic growth.
- The Domain Anchor: Even if you host on a platform, owning the .com for your newsletter allows you to move your audience later without losing your "Search" authority.
